Happy Tuesday! Today was a fun day here in Kazakhstan. One of our translators spent the morning session putting the finishing touches on our album which will be presented to the court and to the Ministry of Education. Our album consisted of our pictures and comments on Gabriel’s progress during the 15 day bonding period. Gabriel was just a joy today. During the morning session, he ate and enjoyed his new porridge. He complained maybe once or twice, but he was satisfied. Afterwards, Gabriel and I walked around for some burp time. I’ve noticed that as of late, he hasn’t been spitting up as much as he has, and he’s keeping down his food. This is such a positive step forward. If you look at his face, his cheeks seem to be getting a little bit chubby and he feels like he’s gaining weight. Gabriel seems to finally be hitting his stride. Just think, once he gets home he is really going to bloom.

After completeing our bonding sessions for the day, our translator took us out for some fun…to the local bowling alley. We first hit the café at the alley, pizza and beer. The beer was incredibly priced, kind of like a happy hour and the pizza as well. After that, we hit the lanes and bowled. It was a lot of fun and it was interesting to see the locals kicking back and relaxing.

Joel

Hello All, Gen here! I think my husband has done an incredible job with blogging. Who would’ve guessed that the same guy that drives like he’s the king of the road on the Jersey Turnpike had a sensitive side? I wanted everyone to know that I do edit, and from time to time, censor his blogs. Which brings me to my point on today’s blog…Joel failed to mention that I beat him in bowling, again. I guess it doesn’t matter on which side of the world he bowls; Joel just can’t seem to find his stride anywhere!! This means that I’ll have to be the one to teach Gabriel how to bowl…hehehe

Da svidaniya! (Good-Bye)

yoyoyo – Im in New Orleans for work and just catching up on your going’s on. Back home on Wednesday. Glad to see the last few days have gone well. Gabe does indeed look a bit fuller. Clearly, like father, like son!

OHH!!! Bohhyy – anyways, I am looking like Gabe as well cause I seem to have packed on some pounds here too.

Joel – thats sad that Gen won. Perhaps you will spin it that you let her win to make her feel good . . .

Finally – Gen, you did beat me to the punch, but I have to say, that St. Joe’s education paid off as the writing on the blog is really creative, colorful, expressive and well thought-out.

Good luck on the last few bonding days and filing the papers – will keep you guys in my thoughts.

i keep forgetting to say this….but i’ve been looking at that weather forecast thing everyday and NO FAIR that you guys are getting such warm weather!!! the cold was bitter when we were there. i felt like i was climbing mt. everest when i walked to the store. but anyway it’s good that you are taking advantage of the weather and getting out and about! :)

yes gabe is looking “fuller” to me too! and he has more color in his face too….the power of a mommy & daddy is incredible! he will just amaze you with progress when you get him home. camille was 12 lbs when we met her, and is now 31+ lbs, less than a year later.

and yes, fatherhood brings out the buried soft & mushy side of most men. in fact, just this past weekend, my huband happily took our girls to a disney princesses on ice show….a show dedicated to pink and sparkles. and i think he liked it more than they did. don’t tell him i said that. ;)

When you guys get home, I think you should feed the little man all organic food.

Halfway there, nice to see everything is going well.
What did that 28K meal at the fancy place come out to in US?

Hope the second stage of the process goes smoothly.

stay warm
