Hello Gen & Joel,
Congratulations !!!! Your long arduous wait has finally been rewarded! I'm sure once Gabriel broadens his diet choices, he'll definitely gain more weight. Bananas are loaded with Vit. K which is great for the muscles and great energy food for babies. Forget the bottled (Gerber) type. Fresh is always the best. Just make sure to introduce one type of food at a time for at least 3-4 days. If there's no reaction (gas (fussiness), rashes, diarrhea) then go ahead and introduce another food item. I'm sure you'll both be bombarded with How-To's on baby care when you get home.
Congratulations again. This is just the beginning of a new chapter. Enjoy the remainder of your stay in Aktobe. I'm sure you'll be sad to leave Kazakhstan, which now holds a dear place in your hearts, and at the same time ecstatic for you'll be coming home as a family. Take care and God Bless.....Have a safe and uneventful flight.

cool pics of the festival! and cute pics of gabe! it's funny how different they look when you can dress them in american clothing! no more polyester one piece suits with fleece hats, yay!! i like the sleeping pic too. very sweet.

uh-oh, passport not ready huh? that story sounds vaguely familiar. well, it's probly due to the new year. tatyana told me that everyone gets lazy around the holidays, so work (including processing passports!) doesn't get done on time. hopefully they'll get it done next week.

i think the nannies at the aktobe baby house had those kids on a firm napping schedule because every kid i know of who has come out of there has been a great sleeper! :)
