Sorry for the long break, but we just got news today that our dossier, which was submitted back in May, has finally gotten cleared by the MFA.  The dossier is being sent to the MOE (Ministry Of Education) for further processing, and it should take 6-8 weeks.

We are almost there!!

Received an email from Wide Horizons today.  Our dossier has been approved at the Kaz embassy in Washington DC and is now on it’s way back to Kazakhstan to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.  This clearance typically takes 4-6 weeks.

Yesterday, Gen and I attended Wide Horizon for Children’s adoption class.  Bridget hosted the class and covered many adoption topics as well as had an open discussion for everyone to participate in.  The class was well run and made everyone think long and hard about the journey they are about to partake.

Bridget came to the house yesterday to do our homestudy.  Basically, she went around the house to make sure everything looked conducive to raising a child.  We had a little bit of a Q&A with her to clarify any issues or concerns as we go forward with the adoption process.

Our next step is to attend the adoption class this weekend.

Bridget will finalize the homestudy by next week and send it to Wide Horizons.

Today it was my turn for a one-on-one interview with our social worker, Bridget Devine, who will be assisting us with our adoption.  Gen had hers two days earlier.
